About this page

What's here

  • The Surge XT synthesis engine (oscillators, filters, envelopes, LFOs, effects), compiled to WebAssembly from the GPL-3.0-or-later source.
  • 585 factory patches. They are released under GPL-3.0-or-later with the Surge source, and 10 of them are marked CC0 by their authors.
  • A new interface, drawn for ∞Open Rack. The Surge XT plugin's own interface and skins are not used.

Left out on purpose

  • Third-party patch and wavetable packs, and any wavetables named after hardware makers.
  • 50 factory patches: ones named after hardware, brands, shows or people, ones that need an audio input, and ones that use formula (Lua) modulation, which this build leaves out.
  • The Airwindows effect collection and formula (Lua) modulation are not compiled into this build. None of the included patches use them.

Sound runs on a separate audio thread in your browser. Big unison patches with many notes held can be heavy on phones. Nothing you play is recorded or sent anywhere.
