Surge XT engine
The sound engine of the open-source Surge XT synthesizer, running in your browser with {{PATCH_COUNT}} of its factory patches. The panel below is our own, kept simple: pick a patch, move the eight macros and play.
Loads about {{DL_MB}} MB the first time.

About this page
What's here
- The Surge XT synthesis engine (oscillators, filters, envelopes, LFOs, effects), compiled to WebAssembly from the GPL-3.0-or-later source.
- {{PATCH_COUNT}} factory patches. They are released under GPL-3.0-or-later with the Surge source, and {{CC0_COUNT}} of them are marked CC0 by their authors.
- A new interface, drawn for ∞Open Rack. The Surge XT plugin's own interface and skins are not used.
Left out on purpose
- Third-party patch and wavetable packs, and any wavetables named after hardware makers.
- {{DROPPED_COUNT}} factory patches: ones named after hardware, brands, shows or people, ones that need an audio input, and ones that use formula (Lua) modulation, which this build leaves out.
- The Airwindows effect collection and formula (Lua) modulation are not compiled into this build. None of the included patches use them.
Sound runs on a separate audio thread in your browser. Big unison patches with many notes held can be heavy on phones. Nothing you play is recorded or sent anywhere.
